The exhibition “Steven Talasnik – Unearthed” will conclude with an interpretation of the installation by Michael Vorfeld and his Light Bulb Music. Sounds will be generated by different light bulbs and electrical switching devices. The bulbs, positioned at various points throughout the space, will interact with Talasnik’s sculpture in a play of shadows to heighten the effect.
Michael Vorfeld is a media artist based in Berlin. In addition to his electroacoustic sound pieces, he plays percussion and self-designed string instruments. He has performed at the MaerzMusik Festival (Berlin), Experimental Intermedia (New York City), Skulpturenmuseum (Marl), Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, and Tsonami Sound Art Festival (Valparaiso), to name a few. Cross-genre collaboration with other artists is integral to his work.
