TU Kaiserslautern / Oda Pälmke Repertoire

@Satellit
Exhibition

A repertoire is the total number of works an artist or ensemble can perform at any time. This collection of illustrations and photographs of normal situations and elements in our built environment and may inspire a natural expansion of the design repertoire.

Oda Pälmke’s working method is informed by the methodology of appropriation and the transformation of found materials. This strategy allows for a fruitful examination of the real. The incidental and the mundane, the found and the invented develop new levels of meaning through her specific way of processing and reworking them. According to Peter Sloterdijk, if everything can form a “starting point for change” or be used as “raw material for production”, then there exists no creativity ex nihilo, and the modern specter of tabula rasa is overcome. The creative process then consists of finding and developing an attitude towards the found and from that a unique narrative. (Anh-Linh Ngo, Publisher/Editor ARCH+)
